COVID 19

The biggest challenge we face since the COVID-19 crisis is how the industry can make working practices possible within such strict guidelines.

METV takes the health and safety of anyone who works for us extremely seriously and we have put measures in place, in accordance with the PACT COVID-19 guidelines, to ensure risk is kept to a minimum.

This is why we have put together a series of working practices, in line with industry bodies such as PACT and BECTU, to be at the fore front of working safely and allow shoots to happen.

Each department will face its own challenges, and the camera department is no exception. With large amounts if kit and equipment, logistics, personnel all needed to get a shoot off the ground, protocols will be important. Listed below is howe we intended to do this.

Cohorts:

To maintain minimal contact with other departments on a shoot, individual departments are to work in ‘cohorts’. The camera team will need to work with each other, but will maintain safe distancing from other groups e.g. wardrobe, art department etc Anyone hired by or working with METV in the camera or lighting department will be made fully aware of this prior to any shoot tasing place.

Kit Handling:

To avoid kit cases and individual pieces of equipment changing hands unnecessarily, only the requisite people will be allowed to handle kit. That will be kept within the camera department as much as possible. Where monitors are required, individual monitors will be assigned to say the director for example. If more than one camera kit is needed, this will be assigned to the camera operator and/or assistant only.

Kit Cleaning:

ALL equipment will be cleaned and wiped down with anti-vac wipes and protective gloves will be worn at all times.

Van Cleaning:

All contact points on the camera van will be wiped and cleaned will anti-mac wipes prior to any use of the van.

Kit Moving/loading/unloading:

Only crew members on the camera department will be allowed to handle equipment cases etc when unloading or loading the camera van. Any unit moves throughout the day will be looked after by the camera department only.

METV has all necessary PPE required to make shoots work safely, should they be required. Wether that is face masks, protective disposable gloves, hand gel wipes etc. We will ensure any one working for us or part of the team will adhere to these guidelines and any PPE will be available for them.

We will be constantly updating our procedures as governance of working practises change and we will be at the fore front, making sure that shoots are possible within this challenging landscape.

WE very much look forward to putting these procedures into practise on a shoot with you as soon as possible.
